Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us.

This policy explains what personal information The Joint on Market collects when you visit our store or website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Who we are

The Joint on Market is a veteran-owned, licensed recreational and medical cannabis retailer located at 3270 Market St NE, Salem, Oregon. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to The Joint on Market, and "you" refers to anyone who visits our store or uses our website.

This policy applies to information collected in our store, through our website and online ordering, and when you contact us.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account and order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and order history when you create an account or place an order.
  • Age and identity details: your date of birth and ID details, which we must check before any sale or delivery.
  • Medical patient details: your OMMP card information, if you shop as a registered medical patient.
  • Messages: anything you send us through our contact form, by email or by phone.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you've signed up for emails, texts or loyalty offers.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and how you arrived at our site.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see section 6.
  • In-store security: our premises are monitored by video surveillance cameras, as required for licensed cannabis retailers in Oregon.

Payment information

Online payments are handled by our third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our website or systems.

3. ID scanning and age verification

Oregon law requires us to verify that every customer is 21 or older, or a registered OMMP patient aged 18 or older, before completing a sale. We may scan your ID to confirm your age and that the ID is valid, and to keep each sale within Oregon's purchase limits.

We don't keep personal information from a recreational customer's ID beyond what's needed to verify age and complete the sale, unless you agree to it (for example, when you join our loyalty program or create an account) or the law requires us to.

4. How we use your information

  • To verify your age and eligibility to buy cannabis.
  • To process, prepare and fulfil your orders, including pickup and delivery.
  • To apply discounts you're eligible for, such as veteran discounts or OMMP tax exemptions.
  • To reply to your questions, feedback and warranty claims.
  • To send you marketing messages, only if you've opted in.
  • To run, maintain, secure and improve our website and services.
  • To prevent fraud, protect our customers, staff and premises, and enforce our policies.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including OLCC and Oregon Health Authority requirements.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Who we share information with

We only share personal information when needed and with parties who are required to protect it:

  • Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, online ordering, payment processing, point-of-sale, delivery, email and text messaging providers.
  • Regulators and government agencies, such as the OLCC or Oregon Health Authority, where the law requires it.
  • Law enforcement or other parties, when required by law, court order or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our customers, staff or business.
  • A buyer or successor, if our business is sold, merged or reorganised, subject to this policy.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working (for example, remembering your cart and confirming your age), to understand how visitors use our site, and to improve your experience.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some features of the website, such as checkout, may not work properly.

7. Email and text marketing

We'll only send you promotional emails or text messages if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or replying STOP to any text message. Message and data rates may apply to texts. Even if you unsubscribe from marketing, we may still send you messages about your orders or account.

8. Medical patient information

If you shop as a registered OMMP patient, we collect the information required by Oregon law to verify your registration and to record medical sales. We treat this information as confidential, use it only to serve you and meet our legal obligations, and never use it for marketing without your consent.

9. How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including secure (HTTPS) connections on our website, access controls and secure payment processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your data.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including meeting legal, regulatory, tax and accounting requirements. When it's no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and applicable law, including the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act where it applies, you may have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising and marketing messages.
  • Appeal our decision if we decline your request.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 14. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We won't discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

12. Age restriction

Our website and store are intended only for adults aged 21 and over, and registered OMMP patients aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on our website.
